Hi I'm a student in my last year at Birmingham University, for my dissertation I am investigating women’s journalism. For this project however we need to come up with an innovative idea.
From my recent research I believe there is a gap in the women’s monthly glossy market for a magazine aimed at working women. The magazine would focus on the working, professional woman with direction on articles, style, travel, health and cooking all from the idea of work and their working world. It will be the perfect travel companion for women commuting or traveling for work and anyone who wants help and tips on how to succeed at work. This is a big movement away from the recent celebrity obsession and what I believe to be the now faltering public interest in celebrity. It would hopefully appeal to women of all ages in a job but the age range focus would be 30+.
Women on their way has been a big influence for me as it focuses on a very similar consumer profile and the women who are part of this networking site would hopefully be my market. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback or tips or anything to say on this idea, as this would be amazingly helpful and invaluable for my dissertation. Thank you very much for your time,
